Meditation for the Week

“Come and have breakfast.” John 21:12

Breakfast is said to be the most important meal of the day.  We don’t always treat it as such, but many tell me it’s their favorite.  Maybe it’s the maple syrup.  J

Jesus’ third appearance to his disciples after Easter happened at breakfast time.  He grilled fish and toasted bread.

The disciples were going about business as usual, while their risen Lord stood and cooked for them!  It took them three tries before they recognized him, before they could believe he had risen.

Each morning at breakfast, before going about business as usual, spend time with your risen Lord.  Recognize the love he has for you, the strength he wishes to give you for the day ahead.

Easter blessings,

            Pastor Orling

PRAYER GROUPS

TUESDAY MORNING CONTEMPLATIVE PRAYER GROUP
Modeled after our current Wednesday Morning Prayer Group, this group meets weekly on Tuesdays from 10-10:30 a.m. for prayer.  Since there are many styles of prayer, the Tuesday group uses a different form of prayer, which is contemplative: quiet time in community.  We begin with formal prayer and scripture, continue with silence and meditation, and conclude with the Lord’s Prayer and Benediction.  The Eucharist is offered periodically.  Prayer resources are available, including the psalms.  The congregational prayer list is also available to pray for those in need.  Everyone is invited to attend Tuesday prayers, which will work alongside of the Wednesday prayer group.  If you have any questions, please contact the church office at 732-229-9180.

WEDNESDAY MORNING PRAYER GROUP
Come and join the Wednesday Prayer Group.  We continue to meet Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. for a Eucharist service.  Following the 10 minute Eucharist Service, we have our regular pray group meeting.

WEDNESDAY MORNING PRAYER GROUP PRAYER REQUESTS
Members and/or Friends of our congregation are encouraged to submit their prayer request for the Wednesday Prayer Group.  Please write down your request on the slips provided on the table in the gathering area and place them in the Prayer Request box on the table next to the show case.  All requests are kept confidential.  If you wish a card to be sent, please provide the persons name and address on the prayer request slip.  You may also call the church office with your request at 732-229-9180, email it to reformationwlb@verizon.net, or contact one of the Prayer Group members.

MARCH OF DIMES: WALK A THON APRIL 25TH
The March of Dimes mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth, and infant mortality.

On April 25th, Les and Darlene Cadigan will be walking in the March of Dimes walk for premature babies in Ocean Grove. This organization has helped countless babies and their families succeed in overcoming the obstacles one encounters when a baby is born prematurely. Please help the march of dimes by sponsoring them on their walk.
After their grandson, Kyle, was born prematurely, they and Kyle’s parents felt compelled to get involved in the March of Dimes
To learn more about March for Babies, visit the Web site at:  www.marchforbabies.org.
If you would like to see what March for Babies is and why we are walking, type the following into your URL address box :  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5P_dFD0J47I

To make your donation. Our team is called "Caddies' 4 Kyle". This page will also give you the info on time and place. You may also sign up to walk. If you do, find our team (Caddies’ 4 Kyle) and sign up there.
Type the following into your URL address box:  http://www.marchforbabies.org/darlenecadigan

Note from Tim Cadigan..

Our son, Kyle, was born premature so Jill and I felt compelled to do something to support babies and families in similar situations. The March for Dimes is at the forefront of research to give premature babies like Kyle the best opportunity to grow and thrive. We have already begun reflecting on the past three months and thinking I can't believe he was that small! We are so grateful for all of the support and love both, we, and more importantly he, has received from our friends and family. If you would like to participate please join us for a nice walk at the "Jersey Shore", if you are unable to participate and instead would be willing or able to offer a small donation it will go to a great cause.
Your gift will fund March of Dimes research and programs that help moms have full-term pregnancies and babies begin healthy lives. And it will be used to bring comfort and information to families with a baby in newborn intensive care.

Please support this important work. You can make a donation with your credit card, or if you prefer, cash or a check is fine, too.

Thank you for helping give all babies a healthy start!
Love,
Tim, Jill and Kyle Cadigan
