Faith in Action: Food Pantry and
Community Clothes Closet

Food Pantry

Reformation’s Food Pantry is open to any member of the community who is in need of food.

Begun over 25 years ago, the Reformation Community Food Pantry now provides food to close to 300 families each month.  Every family is treated with respect and as if they are a member of our family.  Clients are able to shop in our pantry for their own food with help from our volunteers.  Each family must undergo an interview once per year with our staff. Our goal is to give each family we serve a hand-up by providing them not only with food each month but a sympathetic ear and referrals to other social agencies as needed.   Donations of all types of food are gratefully accepted as are cash donations. Volunteers are also always needed and welcomed on our days of operation listed below. But, volunteers are also needed for deliveries on Tuesdays and Fridays. Please use the email address below to get more information on how to volunteer.

The food pantry is open Tuesday evenings from 7-8:30p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8:30-10a.m.

Community Clothes Closet

Reformation’s Community Clothes Closet provides clothing free of charge to all people in need.  We offer seasonal clothing in sizes ranging from newborn through adult.   We often have shoes, socks, and various accessories. All items are donated, inspected for cleanliness, and hung by size and category.

HOURS OPEN TO THE COMMUNITY

1st Saturday of the month – 8am-10am – must be signed in no later than 9:30am

First-time visitors should bring a form of ID that includes your name and address to be registered as a client.  Clients are welcome to visit once a month during our regularly scheduled hours if there is a need.  Space is limited, therefore only 2 adults per family will be admitted to shop, no children please.  This will ensure that everyone that comes for clothing will get a turn to shop while we are open.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

  • Donate Clothing: We accept new and gently used items that are currently in-season.  Clothing should be clean and in good condition (no rips or stains), from a smoke-free home.  Bagged donations can be dropped off on Mondays and Thursdays between 9-4 at 992 Broadway, West Long Branch.  Enter the parking lot on Locust Ave and you’ll see a white bin on the left by the double doors.  Please leave donations in the bin only.

  • Volunteer with Us: We need volunteers who are willing to work on Saturday mornings, 7:45am-11am.  Volunteers will be helping clients as needed, keeping clothing neat and organized, removing empty hangers, restocking areas as needed, etc.

  • Donate Financially: Click on the DONATE section of this website and designate where you’d like the funds to go.

  • Organize a Collection Drive: We rely on donations to stock our racks, and sometimes we fall short.  Reach out to see what our current needs are and organize a collection drive.
