Saturday – 7:30 p.m. The Great Easter Vigil

Sunday – 9:30 a.m. Service of Holy Communion

Wednesday – 10 a.m. Eucharist followed by Prayer Ministry

 

Please join us as we continue to keep the Liturgy of the Three Days today and tomorrow

Then, join us Easter morning for a Festival Service of Holy Communion at 9:30

 

Please remember, there is no nursery coverage or Sunday Church School this Sunday allowing families to worship together on this joyous occasion!

 

HOLY WEEK SCHEDULE

 GOOD FRIDAY:      March 30: 3:00 p.m. Good Friday Liturgy from Evangelical Lutheran Worship

                                                  7:30 p.m. A service of light and shadows – traditionally called Tenebrae

 

THE GREAT VIGIL OF EASTER:  March 31:  7:30 p.m. The Great Vigil of Easter – This service is long – though it could be longer still if we included all of the readings available in the service of readings.  It lasts between 2 and 2 1/2 hours.

                                                                                   

EASTER SUNDAY:              April 1: Festival Service of Holy Communion at 9:30

                                                (No Sunday Church School or Nursery on Easter Sunday)

Easter Lilies and Tulips may be taken home after the 9:30 a.m. service on Sunday morning. Thank you everyone!!

If you have someone on the prayer list and you would like them to remain on the prayer list for the new church year, please call (732-229-9180), email (reformationwlb@gmail.com) or leave a note on Debbie’s desk. Please remember, unless otherwise asked, we will put your loved ones name on the weekly spoken prayer list for 4 weeks and then they will remain on the prayer list below and in the monthly messengers indefinitely (until you let us know we can remove them).

The Harmony Coffeehouse:  Sunday, April 15th at 2 p.m. – cost $5 at the door. Michael & Elliott Topper from Temple Beth Miriam (mom, Gayle helps a lot with our pantry!) are organizing a coffeehouse fundraiser to benefit the Asbury Park Music Foundation. Come listen to some awesome music and support an awesome cause!!

What:    The Youth Handbell Choir and Youth Choir

              From St. Luke’s Lutheran Church, Silver Springs MD

Where:   Here!! At Reformation

When:    Saturday, April 14th at 4:30 p.m.

They will also join us for worship at the 5 o’clock service that evening where they will provide the prelude, offertory music, anthem, and postlude music.

 

A Musical Celebration of Jesus’ Death and Resurrection, Sunday, 15 April, 3:30 PM. The Northern Cluster Choir will present its 2018 Cantata, at Reformation Lutheran Church. Once Upon a Tree, was created by Pepper Choplin, one of the most creative composers of church music today. Experience St. Luke’s retelling of the story through compelling music and narration. Light refreshments will be served in the gathering area.

 

Social Ministry:  Thank you to everyone who helped make the pillows for the NJ Synod servant trip to Bosnia.  If you’ve been saving your change during Lent, we will be collecting the boxes of change on the weekend of April 7/8 which will also be donated for the NJ Synod servant trip to Bosnia. We still have some work to do on the pillows but should have over 150 to donate!

 

Coffee Hour:  Thank you to everyone who has been donating goodies for coffee hour and, as part of the donation, setting up and cleaning up. We have volunteers for goodies through April 8th but then we need volunteers to carry us through until June.  If you would like to take one Sunday and bring in goodies, set up, and clean up, please let the office know or better yet, there is a signup sheet on the kiosk – please sign up.  Elaine Tupy is away this month but will be thrilled if she returns and sees coffee hour taken care of!!

 

Anna Beaty Scholarship:  Calling all high school seniors and undergraduate college students!  Have you been involved in the life of our congregation especially Sunday Church School?  If yes, please be sure to fill out an application for our Anna Beaty Scholarship.  Applications are on the round wooden table and are due to the office by April 15th!

 

Wurffel Fund College Loan/Scholarship:  Through the generosity of the Wurffel family a Memorial Fund has been set up through the NJ Synod to provide a limited amount of financial aid to students attending an accredited 2 or 4 year college for their undergraduate degree.  Priority is given on the basis of financial need and activity in the life of the church.  Applications are available in the church office.  Please see Pastor Matt or Debbie for more information.
