Mother’s Day is next Sunday, May 12th. As we have in the past, we are offering an opportunity to remember or honor the special women in your life via a donation to our Endowment Fund thus strengthening our church for not only today but for the future. There will be an insert in this Sunday’s bulletin but the form is also at the end of this newsletter for anyone wishing to make a donation.

If you have someone on the prayer list and you would like them to remain on the prayer list for the new church year, please call (732-229-9180), email (reformationwlb@gmail.com) or leave a note on Debbie’s desk. Please remember, unless otherwise asked, we will put your loved ones name on the weekly spoken prayer list for 4 weeks and then they will remain on the prayer list below and in the monthly messengers indefinitely (until you let us know we can remove them).

PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY: Please remember we have prayer shawls available to comfort family and friends, including extended family and friends.  Please just ask the office and we will package one for you to take to a loved one.

TOMORROW – NJ YOUTH ORCHESTRA – The NJ Youth Orchestra will be performing here on Saturday, May 4th at 1:30 p.m. – Come and enjoy. The concert is free and there will be refreshments. We will take a freewill offering to offset costs.

TOMORROW – RECYCLING DAY – West Long Branch will be holding a paper shredding/small electronics/eyeglass recycling day on Saturday where the document shredding Melbourne services will be helping, May 4 from 9-1 in the parking lot right across the street from the church. They will also be doing a food drive to benefit our food pantry. We will have volunteers staffing the table and getting the food over to the pantry!

SUNDAY – A Spring Ring Handbell Concert – “Music through the Decades” Bring your family, friends, and neighbors to this free bell concert for an evening of beautiful music at Colts Neck Reformed Church on Sunday May 5th at 7:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary followed by a reception in their fellowship hall. Colts Neck Reformed Church is at 139 Rt. 537 Colts Neck – ¼ mile west of Rt. 34. There will be 60+ ringers playing over 200 Malmark handbells and handchimes.

TUESDAY – GREATER SHORE CONCERT BAND – The Greater Shore Concert Band will be performing here at Reformation on Tuesday, May 7th at 7:30 p.m.  This 50+ piece orchestra will perform show tunes, and various fun pieces for all to enjoy! The concert is free but we will take a free-will offering and will have refreshments as always.

{ Mother’s Day Tribute {

On Sunday, May 12th we will be celebrating MOTHER’S DAY.  We provide an opportunity for honoring and remembering our mothers and the special women in our lives through donations to our Endowment Fund. We have established three sections of the Endowment Fund.  The original section is General Endowment, which will continue to make grants and matching gifts.  The second section is for the Building Endowment and will be used exclusively for the repair or expansion of our church building.  The third section is for Feeding the Hungry. You may choose where you would like your gift applied by annotating in the appropriate sections identified below. Simply make a contribution payable to Reformation Lutheran Church (in any amount) and complete this form.  Your form and donation may be mailed to the church or placed in the offering plates by May 7th.
