Sunday – 9:30 a.m. Service of Holy Communion

BREAD FOR WORLD – Thank you everyone – we raised $491 for our hunger ministries here at Reformation! Our work is not done. If you didn’t get to write a letter or letters to our elected officials last weekend, you can still do it this weekend.  Please look for the display in the gathering area and take a few minutes to write a letter. We’ll be mailing them all to each official on Monday!

FALL CLEANUP AT REFORMATION – THIS SATURDAY (TOMORROW!) 10-2. PLEASE COME HELP CHUCK MILLER AND THE 12 STUDENTS WE HAVE COMING FROM MU’S BIG EVENT TO CLEAN AND SPRUCE UP THE GROUNDS

THIS SUNDAY – Join us for our regular worship service at 930 a.m. followed by a brunch for the congregation in the great room. Then, the highlight event of this anniversary will be held at 2:00 on Reformation Sunday, October 29th as we gather at Precious Blood Roman Catholic Church in Monmouth Beach to worship together. Father Bob and Pastor Matt will preside, our choirs and musicians will participate, and we hope to demonstrate boldly and clearly that God is restoring unity in the Church – the unity for which Jesus prayed on the night of his betrayal and arrest.

If you have a family member you would like included in the spoken prayers on All Saints Weekend, please be sure to get your loved one’s name in to the office as soon as possible.  We try to keep track of everyone’s loved ones who have died in the past year, but to be honest, we don’t always succeed. Please help us to be sure we remember everyone and please don’t assume we will remember.

Thank you, Debbie

Our School Supplies that were gathered and packaged at God’s Work Our Hands Day are going to be shipped out today to Puerto Rico directly to Pastor Jose who will distribute them personally to schools that are reopening this week and next.  Anticipated delivery of all 942 lbs. is Tuesday!!

 ALL SAINTS DAY REMEMBRANCE OPPORTUNITY

On Saturday, November 4th and Sunday, November 5th, 2017 we will celebrate All Saints Day. At our worship services on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m., we will offer prayers remembering all those who have entered their new and eternal life in Christ.

Many people wish to make a memorial donation on this occasion and we continue to provide an opportunity to make such gifts on All Saints Sunday.

Monies received will benefit our Endowment Fund.  There are now three areas within the Endowment Fund in which you may designate your donations.  The original section is general Endowment, which will continue to make grants and matching gifts.  The second section is for the Building and will be used exclusively for the repair of or expansion of our church building.  The third was established to continue the ministry of feeding the hungry. You may choose where you would like your gift applied.

On All Saints Sunday there will be a Memorial Bouquet on the altar.  A list of all those being remembered and the donors who wish to remember them will be included in the bulletin that weekend and published in the December “Lutheran Messenger.”

All remembrances need to be submitted by:  Tuesday, October 31st
