Wednesday – 10 a.m. Eucharist followed by Prayer Ministry

7:00 p.m. Evening Prayer followed by Bible Study

Daylight Savings Time begins at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, March 11th – Don’t forget to “spring” ahead and turn your clock ahead 1 hour before you go to bed on Saturday, March 10th – that’s this weekend everyone !!!

 

Thank you to everyone who baked, cooked and brought food for the dinner we served at 1st Baptist for the families staying there through Family Promise of Monmouth County!

 

If you would like to purchase lilies or tulips in honor or memory of a loved one, please see the order forms below.  There is also a blue form on the round wooden table to use to place your orders. Orders have to go in THIS week so please be sure to get your order into the office!!

 

International Women’s Day Tea and SERRV Fair Trade catalog sale is this Sunday following worship in the great room. All women and girls of the congregation are invited! We’ll share and learn from each other – come and join us!

 

Thank you to those who sponsored the flowers for this week and next.  There are still a LOT of empty spaces for April and May! If you would like to sponsor the flowers, please let the office know as soon as possible. The cost is $30 and can be in memory or honor of someone or just because.

If no one sponsors the flowers, we will have to cancel our standing order for flowers for the weekends we have no sponsors. Please be assured we will have flowers on any weekend where we have someone sponsoring them.

 

PRAYER LISTS/REQUESTS

If you have someone on the prayer list and you would like them to remain on the prayer list for the new church year, please call (732-229-9180), email (reformationwlb@gmail.com) or leave a note on Debbie’s desk. Please remember, unless otherwise asked, we will put your loved ones name on the weekly spoken prayer list for 4 weeks and then they will remain on the prayer list below and in the monthly messengers indefinitely (until you let us know we can remove them).

Sundays in Lent – Join us to make hug pillows for the NJ Synod to take to the children’s camps in Bosnia this summer.

Lenten Luncheons at St. Luke’s – 12 noon every Wednesday during Lent.  All are invited to the luncheons each week

“LOVING OUR NEIGHBOR: DOING ADVOCACY LOCALLY”

The Lutheran Episcopal Advocacy Ministry NJ is hosting a series of discussion on Saturdays in March from 8:30 a.m. – noon.

March 10 – Criminal Justice at St. Michael Lutheran Church, 601 Kings Hwy North Cherry Hill

March 24 – Immigration Justice at Christ Episcopal Church, 415 Washington St., Toms River POSTPONED due to the March in Washington DC

Join them for a morning of learning, networking, worshipping & advocating. Events are free and childcare will be available. Go to www.leamnj.org for more information and to register.  There is also a flyer posted on the kiosk in the gathering area with details.

 

Faith, Hope & Love: Building Safer and More Welcoming Congregations for LGBTQ+ YouthMarch 17, 2018 the church will gather together youth, young adults and adults eager to celebrate the rich diversity of God’s people and learn how to make their homes, congregations and communities a safer, more welcoming place for LGBTQ+ children and youth. Please share this invitation in your congregations and communities. Registration is now open!

 

“MARCH FOR OUR LIVES” March 24, 2018- Washington, D.C. – Bus trip being planned by Lutheran Episcopal Advocacy Ministry of NJ to join the march.  Please see the flyer posted on the kiosk for more details. All ages are invited.

 

The Harmony Coffeehouse:  Sunday, April 15th at 2 p.m. – cost $5 at the door. Michael & Elliott Topper from Temple Beth Miriam (mom, Gayle helps a lot with our pantry!) are organizing a coffeehouse fundraiser to benefit the Asbury Park Music Foundation. Come listen to some awesome music and support an awesome cause!!

 

Easter Lilies

Now through March 12th  the Altar Guild will be taking requests for Easter Lilies. Please consider purchasing a Lily, or two, in honor or in memory of a loved one.  The lilies will be placed around the altar for Easter Sunday worship and may be taken home after our worship service on Easter morning.   Cost: $15.00 each. Donations to the Altar Guild fund, in honor or memory of a loved one, are also gratefully accepted.

Tulips for the Easter Season………

Easter Tulips:   This year we are again offering colored tulips for Easter.  There is no choice of colors; it will be a blend of different colors.
