“SOUPER” BOWL OF CARING – It’s this weekend!!  Please plan to be here and support our youth – they’ll be a noisy offering – bring lots of change or as the kids said last week – “they’ll take paper money too!”; bring a can of soup to restock the pantry shelves (our seniors love seeing soup on the shelves when they shop); and they’ll be lots of soup to “purchase” for a donation – Beef Barley, Vegetarian Bean, Turkey Vegetable, Butternut Squash, Pea Soup w/ ham, Pea Soup w/o ham, and Roasted Salsa Tomato

Choir Members and Altar staff: You can place an order early – just email the church if you didn’t get an order form! We’ll put your soup aside for you.

GETTING READY FOR SOUPER BOWL OF CARING!!

UPCOMING EVENTS

Next Sunday John Seifert our Thrivent Rep. will be here. If you have any questions about Thrivent, please stop by during coffee hour and visit with John. He’d love to answer your questions!!

We’ll soon be putting together our 2019 Church Directory. As soon as all new chairpersons are elected, the new directory will be created. Please check the current directory and send any necessary changes for your information to the church office at reformationwlb@gmail.com.   Please don’t assume we have any changes.  We try to make the directory as accurate as possible but we do make mistakes from time to time.  Thank you!

First Communion Class: When to begin receiving Communion is a mutual decision made by the person, their parents and the Pastor.  If there is anyone who desires to receive the sacrament, the first step in the process is to receive the age appropriate study materials and information.  Please reach out to Debbie K for the material.

“SOUPER” BOWL OF CARING –Souper Bowl of Caring is Super Bowl weekend which is Feb. 2/3 this year. Edie and Debbie, with lots of help we hope, will be making soup to “sell” for a donation on Saturday, Feb 2. The soups will then be available for purchase following both worship services that weekend. We invite all youth in grades 5 and up to come and help us peel, chop, and make soup! There is a signup sheet on the kiosk for volunteers to help with making the soup.  Please let us know if you plan to be here.

“Noisy” Offering:  As part of our “Souper” Bowl of Caring weekend, we will have our Sunday Church School students collecting a special noisy offering during worship on both Saturday and Sunday.  Please start saving your change now for the big weekend.  All proceeds from the weekend benefit the hunger ministries we support here at Reformation: Meal at Noon, the Food Pantry, and the Family Promise dinners at 1st Baptist.

Food Pantry/Clothes Closet update: We are getting closer to the big moves for the food pantry and clothes closet but not just yet!  We are hoping to move the pantry into the new building within the next 2-3 weekends and then refurbish the current pantry into a state of the art clothes closet.  If you would like to help, please let Debbie K. and Sue H. know and we’ll keep you in the loop as firmer dates are set!! We never say no to help!!

MEETINGS AND UPCOMING MEETINGS:

Nominating Committee – will meet on 2/6

Worship & Music – will meet on 2/4

Fellowship – will meet on 2/24

Discover the Joy of being a Hospice Volunteer

If you have a warm heart, a listening ear, and the gift of compassion, you can make a difference in the life of a hospice patient or family member.  VNA Health Group is inviting individuals interested in becoming hospice volunteers to join our team in Monmouth and Middlesex Counties.

There are many rewards and opportunities available to hospice volunteers though home visitation, companionship, administrative support, pet therapy, or any complimentary therapies. We are also seeking volunteers interested in providing support calls to our patients and family members from our offices. Training will be provided by members of the Hospice team.

If you are interested in this opportunity, please contact Pauline De Palma, BSW (732) 224-6933 or email: pauline.depalma@vnahg.org
