EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION FORM

EMERGENCY CONTACT INFORMATION FORMS ARE WITH THE USHERS THIS MONTH! What if something were to happen to you at church?  Would we know who to contact? Would we know your medications and how best to help you get medical attention?  Please help us help you by completing the forms during NOW!  This is for members of all ages – if you are here by yourself and something happens it doesn’t matter what your age is – you would want us to be able to contact your loved ones to meet you at the hospital!

COMMUNITY HAPPENINGS

  1. Visiting Nurse Association Health Group of Central Jersey is looking for Hospice Volunteers.  There is a flyer on the kiosk in the gathering area with full details including contact information – there are many ways to get involved in hospice care.
  2. Pastor Steve Sweet of Grace Lutheran Church, River Edge NJ has sent a letter hoping there might be someone who is a match for a living kidney donor for his wife . His letter is on the kiosk
  3. Hidden in Plain Sight:  Tuesday, 10/24 at 6 p.m. at Maple Place School in Oceanport – lean how to spot signs of at-risk behaviors using an interactive display of a teenager’s bedroom.  Looks can be very deceiving – especially if you don’t know what to look for!

If you have a family member you would like included in the spoken prayers on All Saints Weekend, please be sure to get your loved one’s name in to the office as soon as possible.  We try to keep track of everyone’s loved ones who have died in the past year, but to be honest, we don’t always succeed. Please help us to be sure we remember everyone and please don’t assume we will remember.

Thank you, Debbie

ALL SAINTS DAY REMEMBRANCE OPPORTUNITY

On Saturday, November 4th and Sunday, November 5th, 2017 we will celebrate All Saints Day. At our worship services on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. and Sunday at 9:30 a.m., we will offer prayers remembering all those who have entered their new and eternal life in Christ.

Many people wish to make a memorial donation on this occasion and we continue to provide an opportunity to make such gifts on All Saints Sunday.

Monies received will benefit our Endowment Fund.  There are now three areas within the Endowment Fund in which you may designate your donations.  The original section is general Endowment, which will continue to make grants and matching gifts.  The second section is for the Building and will be used exclusively for the repair of or expansion of our church building.  The third was established to continue the ministry of feeding the hungry. You may choose where you would like your gift applied.

On All Saints Sunday there will be a Memorial Bouquet on the altar.  A list of all those being remembered and the donors who wish to remember them will be included in the bulletin that weekend and published in the December “Lutheran Messenger.”

All remembrances need to be submitted by:  Tuesday, October 31st
